MIKE'S STORY
On Saturday, August 13, 2011 Mike's life changed forever. While returning from introducing his mother and daughter for the first time, a distracted driver drove an SUV through a red light at full speed and t-boned his car on the passenger side. The impact killed his mother instantly and left Mike in critical condition. He was in a coma for over a month. It caused a major Tramatic Brain Injury (TBI), among other injuries, and has cost him over $200,000 in medical bills. The distracted driver's insurance will only cover $100,000, before lawyer and court costs are factored in. He is now on disability, and currently undergoes weekly speech and physical therapy. "Every day I see people driving and talking on their cell phones, and every day I hope that this stops. Well, the time has come for me to stop hoping and to start doing something about it.
